A monument has been built to honour those who served at HMS Ringtail Fleet Air Arm, Royal Naval Aerodrome (Burscough) Lancashire. A high profile dedication ceremony took place on Sunday 10th of October 2004 at the site of the memorial. There was a parade of the standards , Ringtail service men and women and the associations marched behind the brass band. After the ceremony there was an aircraft flypast, and the parade marched past Lt CDR HJM Lawrence and others who took the salute. It was a fantastic day with around 500 attending, a fine tribute to those who served at Royal Naval Airstation (HMS RINGTAIL) Burscough.

Photo shows Fleet Air Arm National Standard Bearer ,Right - and Fleet Air Arm Greater Manchester branch standard bearer ,left.

Many thanks to Burscough Parish Council who funded the monument. Thanks also to all the people who helped organise this special day without whose help we would have struggled. Special thanks to the local people who have shown so much interest. Most if all thanks to all the men and women who served at Ringtail, this day and the monument was out way of saying , THANK YOU....

The monument can be found be turning off the A59 Burscough, down Pippin Street B5242 Which runs alongside the Beaufort Hotel. The monument is located on a large grass verge off the Pippin St Roundabout at the junction of Tollgate road 20yards from the hotel.
