Fairey Firefly Z1948 - 17/04/1944

On the 17th April 1944 Fairey Firefly No Z1948 of No 1771 squadron was carrying out dummy deck landings when a tyre burst on take of causing the aircraft to ground loop and crash on landing, the aircraft was being flown by Sub Lieutenant R.M. Shaw RNZN.
